Description
용호영 龍虎營 조선 후기의 군영으로, 궁궐 수비와 수도 방위를 담당하였다. 훈련도감, 어영청 등과 함께 수도 방위 체계를 구성하였으며, 주로 정예 병력으로 편성되어 국왕 호위를 겸하였다. ‘용호(龍虎)’라는 이름은 왕권의 위엄과 군의 용맹을 상징한다. 설립: 조선 후기, 17세기경. A late Joseon military regiment responsible for the defense of the royal palace and the capital. Together with the Hunryeondogam and Eoyeongcheong, it formed part of the capital’s defense system, composed mainly of elite troops also serving as royal guards. The name “Dragon and Tiger” symbolized royal authority and military valor. Founded: Late 17th century, during the later Joseon period.
