Description
Salem (sometimes stylized as S4LEM or SALEM) is an American band from Traverse City, Michigan. Originally a trio, Salem was formed in 2008 by Jack Donoghue, John Holland, and Heather Marlatt. As of today, it consists of Jack Donoghue and John Holland, who both produce the band's music and provide vocals. They have been known to be the pioneering cornerstone of Witch House, which is a dark, occult-themed electronic music microgenre and visual aesthetic that emerged in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Salem is oftentimes considered to be the god of collaborations and remixes due to their vastly broad crossovers with other artists such as Charli XCX, Interpol, Health, Rihanna, Bladee, Black Kray, Britney Spears, These New Puritans, HIM, Soulja Boy, Light Asylum, Blonde Redhead, Atari Teenage Riot, Wolfgang Tillmans, The Cult, and Tyler, the Creator.
