Stаff Corps of Cavalry #8169446
Description
𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐅𝐅 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐘 The Staff Corps of Cavalry was formed at the request of the Duke of Wellington in 1813 to enforce discipline in the rebellious British Army and act as military escorts to important individuals. The Staff Cavalry additionally served in advisory roles to generals and their staff. Ultimately, while fundamentally serving as a constabulary of the army the Staff Cavalry proved themselves on multiple occasions in the field of battle. Originally formed from elite, well respected, or senior staff of Light Dragoon regiments, the Staff Cavalry formed 4 troops, to begin with. These brave fellows of the 1st Troop dress in the attire of the original Light Dragoon regiment from which they came, with a red ribbon tied about their right arm. As exemplars of discipline and martial prowess their motto rightfully says, "By example, we shall lead."
