Description
The territory today considered the Republic of Antalon has its roots back in 1748 when established as a naval base by the British Empire. It functioned as such until 1775 when it was seized from the Empire by a breakaway state. The islands were soon populated by civilian residents but still kept their military role up to the 20th century, when it saw an economic crisis. The territory was then sold to the Union of Soviet Social Republics and became the Antalon Soviet Socialist Republic. Its military role once again became important with the outbreak of the cold war, with its strategic location within the Atlantic and Arctic Ocean. In 1987 the Antalonian SSR declared independence, establishing sovereignty for the first time in its history, the first of the Republics to leave the USSR. Ever since independence the Republic of Antalon has gotten its own stable democratic government, established great monuments and enjoys the oil within their coastal territory.
