Description
Although Portugal has been fighting Germany in Africa since the beginning of the Great War no formal declaration of war was put in effect from any of both sides. However, the decision in favour of Great Britain for this small nation to seize the German ships ashore in Portuguese territory led to the German Empire to declare war on Portugal in 1916 which had the latter send an Expeditionary Corps to France to participate in the Western Front.
