𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒 Neopolitan Guard Grenadiers 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 In 1806, the regiment was raised by the King of Naples, Joseph Bonaparte, as a mimic of the French Imperial Guard, and was recruited from mostly the elite grenadier companies of the various French line regiments stationed in Naples. Undergoing numerous uniform changes throughout its existence, the new King of Naples in 1808, Joachim Murat continued to tinker with them. As guard infantry, the men are expected to excel in discipline, loyalty, proficiency, determination, and to set the example to the army, for which they are rewarded privileges that standard regiments do not have.
