𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐮𝐱𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐬 - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 The Mississippi Battalion, often associated with companies such as the Mississippi Guards, were organized in 1835 in the state of Mississippi as a volunteer force composed of American citizens who entered Texian service during the Texas Revolution. Raised from local militia traditions and frontier communities, these companies traveled independently to Texas and were incorporated into the revolutionary army under the authority of the Provisional Government. Unlike formally structured regiments, they served as part of the broader influx of auxiliary volunteers, bringing their own arms, officers, and internal organization. 1835-1836
