The Foundation keeps its existence a secret to prevent mass panic and the chaos associated with it and to allow human civilization to function normally. When a new anomaly is discovered, the Organization dispatches one of its MTFs (Mobile Task Forces) to capture and transport it to the appropriate Foundation area, or to contain the object at the location of the discovery if transport is not possible. Captured SCPs are subject to close scrutiny. Prison inmates acquired by the Organization, who are mostly on death row, are referred to as D-class personnel and are used to interact with SCPs as consumables The Foundation's successful operation depends primarily on dividing responsibilities between various departments.
