Description
The Galactic Courts are the judicial branch of the Republic. At the apex of the judicial system sits the Supreme Court, established by the Galactic Constitution, the Supreme Court is the ultimate interpreter of the Constitution and other laws. The Courts are led by the Chief Justice of the Republic, who presides over the Supreme Court, serving as the head of the judiciary as also its chief administrative officer. The Courts are protected under the constitutional principle of judicial independence, making judges impartial arbiters of the law.
