Description
𝘼𝙧𝙢𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙘 Formed July 26, 1861, the Army of the Potomac was the Union’s main force in the East, fighting in nearly every major battle—Gettysburg, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, The Wilderness, and Petersburg among them. At its height, it numbered over 120,000 men. After securing victory at Appomattox, the army was disbanded on June 28, 1865, having earned its legacy in blood and triumph.
