Alemanska Garda #824248962
Description
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 The Alemannic Guard was raised in 1336 by Palmann Bracht de Letinberch for Stefan Uros IV Dusan. It was recruited in Styria, Carinthia, and Austria including people of Austrian and Slavic origin; while others came from Sweden and from Florence, Treviso, and Venice. They were greater and lesser nobility with each man being over 6'6" tall. They were Dusan's bodyguards as well as the guard of the court numbering 300 elite knights taking great care to supply them with the most modern equipment of that time. The company would serve in Dusan's campaign of northern Greece. They were given various tasks, but only a few instances are noted. In 1343 Dusan would lend them to John Kantakouzenos where it took the city of Veroia. They are later seen garrisoned in there in 1350, defending it by entrenching themselves in a makeshift fort but despite this the city eventually fell. In 1355 the company garrisoned Klis. 🌿Само Слога Србина Спасава🌿
