Description
(Based on a Group of Interest from the French branch of the SCP Wiki.) The Society of the Atheistx Partisans of Progress for the Halt of the Irrational and Religious Enemy (SAPPHIRE) is a Group of Interest that advocates to fight any form of belief, religion and superstition that they believe is the underlying cause of the woes affecting mankind, as well as SCP objects that they consider to be the source of the aforementioned beliefs, religions, and superstitions. SAPPHIRE is the evolution of the SACRE, an anticlerical organization already active under the First French Empire from 1806-1815 and member of the Singulière Académie Impériale, one of the historical predecessors of the Foundation. Much of its early history is unknown, except that after the Seventh Occult War it became one of the founding members of the Global Occult Coalition. However, in 1953 it split off due to ideological differences. (Note, we are not a true radical Atheistx group, and all beliefs are welcome.)
