Description
The Allegheny Valley & Southern Railroad offers a scenic ride of the networks mainline and branch tracks winding through the rolling hills, forests, and rocky cuts of the northeastern mountains. The line passes lakes, waterfalls, and tunnels, giving passengers views where the area’s past still lives. Once serving the mining communities of Hill Top, the AV&S now provides peaceful rides through the heart of the Alleghenies — with special branch tours to landmarks like Hill Top Mine and Silver Falls Overlook, where nature and history meet along the rails. Although this railway was originally a 3-foot gauge industrial line, it has been converted for easier navigation and smoother scenic rides for visitors.
