Description
The Imperial Valorian Armed Forces, formed in the late 1930s, were the main military force of the Valorian Empire, a multi-national state modeled after Austria-Hungary. Built on tradition and loyalty to Herr Sieghardt, the army drew soldiers from across the empire’s many ethnic groups, organized into regional units that often kept local customs, with German as the command language. Valorian doctrine was conservative, relying on disciplined infantry, artillery, and defensive warfare suited to mountainous terrain. Limited modernization introduced small mechanized units and a modest air arm, but tradition still dominated training and leadership. On the eve of the 1940s, the armed forces stood proud yet outdated, symbolizing imperial unity while struggling to adapt to modern war.
