Description

The Uesugi clan was a Japanese samurai clan, descended from the Fujiwara clan. They are noted for their power in the Muromachi and Sengoku periods. They are also quite known for Uesugi Kenshin, a notable Sengoku warlord. Uesugi Kenshin was a daimyo who ruled Echigo province in the Sengoku period of Japan.
