Scandinavian Airlines or SAS, previously Scandinavian Airlines System, is an airline based in the Scandinavian countries. The company is jointly owned by the three governments (21.4% of Sweden, 14.3% in Norway and 14.3% in Denmark) and half by private investors. It was formed through a merger of several airlines from Sweden, Norway and Denmark. SAS carried in 2012 over 28 million passengers and completed around 1100 flights / day. [1] The Company's operations consist primarily of European air traffic and domestic, outbound from the three Scandinavian capitals. Intercontinental traffic starts from Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen in particular. Moreover conducted regional Norwegian domestic traffic as well as traffic from Finland through its subsidiaries Wideroe and Blue1.
