📌 The Alpine Federation was founded in 1931 as a defensive union between Switzerland and Austria to safeguard sovereignty against rising ultranationalist threats in Italy and Germany. Between 1931 and 1934, the union consolidated infrastructure, coordinated militaries, and planned a central government. Following early campaigns to secure the Alpine regions in 1934–1935, the Confederation centralized into the Alpine Federation.
