ARMADA DE SÃO BONIFÁCIO A Armada Bonifacense é o braço armado marítimo da Coroa, constituída durante a solidificação do Estado Bonifacense nos fins do Séc. XIX e início do Séc. XX. Sua história confunde-se com a do Ducado, pois foi em 1889 que os colonos compram duas Escunas, Liberdade e Dois de Dezembro, para patrulhar a costa da ilha e ajudar no resgate de naufrágos. Foi o primeiro braço armado do ducado a envolver-se em um conflito externo, quando em 1892 o Conselho envia a eescuna Dois de Dezembro para auxiliar as tropas monarquistas na Revolta daa Armada, no Rio de Janeiro. Esta retorna à ilha poucos meses depois, após ser alvejada por baterias costeiras republicanas. A Armada é regularizada juntamente ao Exército e a Guarda Civil, com a proclamação da independência a 10 de Agosto de 1909.
