“𝐣𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐣𝐮𝐬” en el año de nuestro señor, 1695 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐨 Puerto Poyoyo was claimed by the Spanillan kingdom in the early 15th century by the conquistador Juan Ponce de Leon and settled not soon after with its capital as San Juan. Over the years the island has been attacked by pirates and other nations such as the Kingdom of Tealand & The Hollander Republic for its status as an entrance into the Caribbean and strategic importance. Puerto Poyoyo has two defenses such as El Castillo de Mohrro and El Castillo de San Christobál
