The Keppel Club #849252782
Description
[FICTIONAL] The Keppel Club was founded by John Keppel in 1798, two months after the Board of Directors granted him control of the Keppel Company. Seeking to expand the company beyond shipping and commerce, John established a luxurious seaside seafood tavern on a lakeside in Quebec, creating the third daughter company of the Keppel Company. Originally intended as an exclusive establishment catering to wealthy merchants, naval officers, and prominent travelers, the Keppel Club quickly became known for its refined atmosphere, privacy, and political discretion. Beneath its elegant appearance, however, the organization gradually evolved into an intelligence network serving American interests abroad. During the First Barbary War and later the War of 1812, several Keppel Club taverns were outfitted with concealed corridors, hidden rooms, and underground storage spaces used to shelter American troops, fugitives, couriers, and intelligence agents.
