Description

The Mason City & Clear Lake Railroad Company (MC&CL) is an interurban railway line that serves both the Mason City and Clear Lake area in the State of Iowa. Initially incorporated as the Mason City & Clear Lake Traction Company on December 5, 1896, by W. E. Brice and L. H. Ong, it continues to serve as the last interurban railroad in the United States that regularly operates freight service under the current name of the Iowa Traction Railway (IATR).
