Description
Multinational Force in Lebanon The MNF was an international peacekeeping force with the mission to ensure the withdrawal of all foreign forces; aid, support, and military to reassure the legitimacy and sovereignty of the Lebanese Government. Deployed to Beirut, the United States, France, Italy and the United Kingdom contributed to the peacekeeping operations. Under its mandate, the MNF provides a multinational presence requested by the Lebanese Government to mainly assist it and the Lebanese Armed Forces in the Beirut area, however taking in joint exercises with deployed foreign troops to remove any hostile threats within the areas of the capital.
