Description
The house took its name from Blackfyre, the Valyrian steel hand‑and‑a‑half sword once wielded by Aegon the Conqueror and later bestowed upon Daemon. Their sigil is a black three‑headed dragon breathing black fire on a red field, a direct color reversal of the Targaryen red dragon on black, visually declaring their status as rival dragonlords and alternative kings. This inversion of colors and shared dragon iconography framed the Blackfyres as the “black dragon” faction set against the “red dragon” of the main Targaryen line.
