Description
COHORTES PREATORIA ∎▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬∎ The Praetorian Guard was a powerful military unit in ancient Rome, established by Emperor Augustus to protect the Roman Emperor and his household. They were primarily responsible for the personal security of the emperor, acting as his bodyguards, and maintaining order and discipline within the city of Rome. Additionally, the Praetorian Guard played a significant role in the political affairs of the empire, including overseeing the appointment of government officials, conducting intelligence gathering and espionage, and using their power and influence to manipulate or overthrow the sitting emperor if they deemed him unfit for rule. The Praetorian Guard were also highly trained and well-equipped soldiers, serving as the Emperor's elite troops in times of war.
