Description

"𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐍𝐘𝐗" 🐺 The exploratores of the Twentieth Legion (Legio XX Valeria Victrix) were among the most crucial auxiliary elements in the legion’s structure, tasked with reconnaissance, scouting, and gathering intelligence in hostile or unknown territory. Unlike the heavily armored front-line legionaries, these cohorts operated with greater mobility, often lightly equipped to move swiftly across difficult terrain. Their role was to probe enemy positions, track troop movements, and report back with information essential for the legion’s commanders to plan campaigns. In practice, they served as the eyes and ears of the Twentieth Legion, bridging the gap between Rome’s rigid military discipline and the fluid, unpredictable realities of frontier warfare.

Growth

2 measurements spanning 36 days, net -1. Dots are measurements; the straight line between them is drawn to join them, not to claim we know the path taken in between — snapshots are recorded only when a count changes, so gaps mean “no change observed”, never “interpolated”. The vertical axis spans 15–16 and does not start at zero.
