Description
In 1763, the 3rd Regiment of the Imperial Guard along with 3 other regiments were formed to be Line Infantry and was sent to the Bataille of Manitassi. The regiment fought harsh fighting while defending the farm house of Cecil. The guard was able to hold the farmhouse and repel a bayonet charge against the marching organized rebellion known as, the Rébellion du Lâche. After the battle, the Imperial Guard was noted for their courage and was given the nickname, "Gardiens du Royaume", the Guardians of the Kingdom.
