Description
United States Seventh Fleet 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 ═───────────═ The United States Seventh Fleet served as the dominant U.S. naval force in the Pacific during the Vietnam War, projecting sea power from the Gulf of Tonkin to the South China Sea. With aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers, amphibious assault ships, and riverine forces under its command, the fleet conducted sustained air operations (Task Force 77), amphibious landings (Task Force 76), and coastal and river patrols (Task Forces 115, 116, and 117). Its presence provided critical support to MACV, enforced blockades, and carried out strategic bombardments while deterring broader conflict in the region. Known as the “Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club,” the 7th Fleet was a constant force from the earliest air strikes in 1964 to the final evacuations of 1975. ═───────────═ Requirement: Assignment to Seventh Fleet operational forces during the Vietnam War
