Description
The 101st Airborne Division during World War II was a highly distinguished and elite airborne infantry division of the United States Army. Known for its specialized parachute assault capabilities, the division played a pivotal role in several major campaigns across Europe and North Africa. Formed in 1917 as the 101st Infantry Division, it was redesignated as an airborne division in 1942, becoming the 82nd Airborne Division.
