Description
The Inquisition is the Imperium of Man’s final and absolute safeguard, an institution that exists not to rule, but to ensure that the Imperium continues to exist at all. It is not bound by planet, regiment, Chapter, or creed. It answers only to the Emperor of Mankind and to the terrible necessity of survival in a galaxy that is actively hostile to human life. Where the Astra Militarum wages war with numbers, and the Adeptus Astartes with precision, the Inquisition wages war with judgment. Its battlefield is not only the front line, but the archive, the council chamber, the hive spire, and the human mind itself. Its enemies are not merely xenos and daemons, but corruption, doubt, complacency, and disobedience. The Inquisition exists because no other Imperial institution can be trusted to police itself indefinitely. An Inquisitor is granted near-total authority, empowered to investigate, command, condemn, and destroy in the Emperor’s name. This power is not ceremonial. It is practical.
