Description
The 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment ("Blackhorse Regiment") serves as the primary opposing force (OPFOR) at the National Training Center (NTC) in California, training visiting US and allied forces in simulated combat scenarios. The Regiment is a highly adaptable, mechanized unit known for playing the enemy to make other forces better soldiers by replicating near-peer threats, including urban, asymmetric, and conventional warfare. Historically, the 11th ACR has a distinguished combat record, including service in the Philippine–American War, World War II, Vietnam, the Gulf Wars, and Afghanistan.
