Description
The CIS, or Confederacy of Independent Systems, was the secessionist government of star systems and corporations that broke from the Galactic Republic, leading to the Clone Wars against the Republic's forces. Led publicly by Count Dooku and secretly by Darth Sidious, the CIS aimed for independence but was actually a tool for Sidious to orchestrate the war, gain power, and ultimately transform the Republic into his Galactic Empire, as shown in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and The Clone Wars series.
