Description

🌿Dansk-Norske Hær «Danish-Norwegian Army»🌿 📌During the Napoleonic Wars, the Danish-Norwegian army was a unified military force serving the dual monarchy of Denmark-Norway, which aligned with Napoleonic France after the British attack on Copenhagen in 1807. The army, consisting of around 70,000–80,000 men at its peak, was primarily organized for defensive warfare and included infantry, cavalry, and artillery units. It was well-trained by contemporary standards, though limited in size and resources compared to the major powers. Much of its activity was centered in Norway, particularly during the Dano-Swedish War (1808–1809) and the Swedish campaign against Norway in 1814. Despite facing superior forces, Norwegian troops gained a reputation for effective resistance, especially in the rugged terrain of the border regions.
