𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑹𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒍-𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆 Raised in 1745 from the volunteers of Labourd and Basse-Navarre, the Cantabres serve His Most Christian Majesty as light infantry, bred to the passes of the Pyrenees and blooded in Flanders at Brussels and Rocoux. Where the line stands in close order, we go forward: the skirmish, the ambush, the broken ground, the mountain. Our officers are drawn from the countries beyond the Adour, and our men wear the sky-blue coat and the beret of the Basque. Take up the musket and serve the King in the manner of your fathers.
