Description
𝐓𝐀𝐗𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐎𝐍 « 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔 » The Ikaridai take their name from Ikaros, a Phocaean pathfinder who left the safety of the Lacydon when Massalia was still young, pressing north along the Rhodanos into country no Greek keel had charted. Where the rest of the colony kept to the harbour, Ikaros treated with the tribes of the interior, took a wife among them, and raised the first watch-towers on ground Massalia had not dared to call her own. The Taxis Ikaridon now holds those northern territories in his name — a house tempered by isolation and thickened with Celtic blood, standing within the Massalian Stratos as the polis's first warning against the Salyes and the tribes of the hinterland. Harder and quieter than the houses of the coast, the Ikaridai are trusted because they have never needed the polis to survive; only chosen, again and again, to defend it. ₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪ From the wild north; by the unbroken watch.
