Description
The RAF Regiment is the ground combat force of the Royal Air Force, responsible for protecting RAF personnel, aircraft, and airfields worldwide. Formed in 1942 during the Second World War, it was created to defend air bases against ground and airborne threats. Today, the RAF Regiment provides force protection, counter-unmanned aerial system capabilities, and specialist chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) defence. Its personnel deploy globally on operations, ensuring the RAF can safely generate and sustain air power in both peacetime and conflict.
