Description
“When the sky darkens over Sicily, the Storm-Bearers are already marching.” ₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪ Their name was whispered more than spoken. Born during the campaigns of Timoleon — the liberator who moved like a storm across tyrant-ruined Sicily — this sacred band of warriors fought under the sign of Zeus Aigilalios, the Storm-Lord. Legends claimed that thunder rolled whenever they advanced, and that lightning struck the ridge-lines just before their charge, as if the heavens themselves cleared a path for them. Whether truth or embellishment, none in Sicily doubted their swiftness or their fury. Lightly armored, bearing crests streaked with blue and white, the Aigilalioi swept across hills and forests long before the hoplite phalanx could arrive. They scouted enemy positions, stalked ambushers, and carried out rapid assaults on the flanks of invading armies.
