Description
𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐑𝐔𝐌 ALLIED WINGS Recruited from the socii, who were officially recognized as "friends of Rome," the alae sociorum composed cavalry wings of consular armies as well as a significant amount of foot soldiers. It was the sole duty of Roman allies to supply fully-equipped levied centuries to the Republic to ensure the state's survival during wartime. The alae is under the direct command of the consuls and their very own praefectus sociorum, the supreme military authorities of a respective allied nation.
