Description
Västgöta-Dal Regementet History The regiment has its origins in the phoenixes that were planted in the 16th century in Västergötland and Dalsland. In 1615, these units were organized into Västergötland's Grand Regiment by Gustav II Adolf. Västergötland's large regiment consisted of ##### ##### regiments, of which Västgöta-Dal's regiment consisted of one. In the years 1621 –1624, the large regiment permanently delayed to three smaller regiments, where Västgöta-Dals regiment from March 10, 1624 formed one. Västgöta-Dal's regiment was one of the original 20 Swedish infantry regiments mentioned in the 1634 form of government.
