Japan rapidly mobilized its armed forces and became the great power of Asia. No longer will Japan bow down to the Western aggressors and the Chinese, for the Empire of Japan has forged itself a powerful existence in the world. Over the years, Japan would continue to expand its economy and army, and once the First Sino-Japanese War began it was a decisive victory for the Japanese resulting in territorial acquisitions in Taiwan. As the 19th century draws to a close and Emperor Meiji still sits on the throne of Japan, the future looks bright for the Empire.
