After their education, Acolytes bear the chain of the Maesters: the mark of an institution forged by the eras, and provide their skills as a supreme-command advisor to a house or other recognized group. The trials of a Maester are rigorous and selective. Those who enter the doors of the Citadel must be prepared to dedicate themselves in all their being.
