Description
Count Thurn's Regiment was raised in Bohemia in 1618: it was owned by ##### ######## of Thurn-Valsassina and commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Franz Bernhard Of Thurn-Valsassina. It is said to have mustered 2000 men. It had at least ten companies, although only six were present with the army in March 1620 because two were in the garrison of Burgschleinitz and "the others in diverse ########### Despite being considered one of the best regiments in the army during the summer of 1620 it was one of the most rebellious regiments in the army and it was only due to Hohenlohe's reassurances that brought the regiment under control once more.
