𝐄𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐎𝐈 ───────────── The Epheroi are the rising weight of the phalanx—full-time hoplites in the making, whose craft is no longer instinct, but studied practice. Drawn from those Zeugites who have committed wholly to the shield and spear, they stand at the threshold of mastery, learning to turn drilled motion into doctrine. Their role is presence: to advance with discipline, receive impact without fracture, and press the line with deliberate force. In the grind of formation warfare they learn timing, spacing, and the language of the shield—when to yield a pace, when to drive the rim forward, when to let the spear speak. Each battle is a lesson written in sweat and bronze. Not yet exemplars, yet no longer novices, the Epheroi are shaped by repetition and cohesion.
