El Ministerio de Defensa de la República Dominicana es el conjunto de sus cuerpos militares. La misión del Ministerio de Defensa es defender la integridad territorial de la República Dominicana, defender su soberanía, sostener la paz y el orden público. Éstas están compuestas por el Ejército de la República Dominicana, la Armada de la República Dominicana, la Fuerza Aérea de la República Dominicana y el Departamento Nacional de Investigaciones. También forma parte el Obispado Castrense de la República Dominicana. Algunos de los miembros son asignados luego a otras ramas de los cuerpos de seguridad dominicanos como son: el ### (Departamento Nacional de Investigaciones, principal organismo de inteligencia dominicano), la DNCD (Dirección Nacional De Control de ######## el CESFRONT (Cuerpo Especializado en Seguridad Fronteriza), CESEP (Cuerpo Especializado en Seguridad Portuaria), CESAC (Cuerpo Especializado en Seguridad Aeroportuaria y Aviación Civil) y algunos más.
