Description
The Empire of Iberia, united in the early 1800's after the Portuguese monarchy left, Spain took advantage of the power vacuum and took power, installing Ferdinand VII as King of Portugal and Spain. Allying themselves with the British, they were one of the major powers that defeated France, and Britain begrudgingly accepted that Spain took Portugal. Ferdinand VII created the Empire of Iberia, uniting them, after the death of Ferdinand VII, Isabella II was to become Empress of Iberia, but she died due to an unknown illness. This caused Ferdinand VII's brother, Carlos María Isidro de Borbón, to become the new Emperor. Which he gladly accepted, he continued to rule until 1857, after which, his son Carlos Luis de Borbón became Emperor for a few years, until he died in 1861, ruling only 4 years. This caused Prince Juan to become Emperor from 1861 to 1875, and his son, Alfonso XII, became the new Emperor, ruling from 1875 to 1904. After his death, his son Alfonso XIII would become Emperor.
