The Parachute Regiment (Paras) is the British Army’s elite airborne infantry, founded in 1942 for rapid parachute and air assault operations. They are renowned for their toughness, distinctive maroon beret, and motto “Utrinque Paratus” (“Ready for Anything”). Today, they form the core of 16 Air Assault Brigade, with 1 PARA supporting UK Special Forces.
