He is the captain of the ocean freighter the Meresk Alabama. While sailing off the coast of Somali the ship his hijacked by a group Somali pirates. They demand a ransom of $10,000,000.But after a while they are forced to leave the ship with $30,000 in the ships lifeboat. In a bit of confusion Captain Phillips is kidnapped by the Pirates in the lifeboat. With the US Navy on Captain Phillips' side, will he be saved? Or will he go down with these pirates?
