Description
중대범죄수사청은 국가에서 중대한 범죄를 전문적으로 수사하기 위한 만들자는 논의가 있었던 수사기관을 말한다. 이 기관은 대형 부패 범죄, 대규모 경제 범죄, 선거범죄, 조직 범죄 등 사회적으로 영향이 큰 사건을 중심으로 수사를 담당하는것을 목표로 한다. 기존에는 검찰이 수사와 기소를 함께 담당했지만 권한이 과도하다는 의견이 제기되면서, 일반 범죄는 경찰이 수사하고 중대한 범죄는 중대범죄수사청이 수사하며 검찰 기소와 공소유지 중심역활을 하도록 권한을 분리하자는 취지에서 제안된 기관이다. 다만 중대범죄수사청은 아직 실제로 설치된 기관은 아니며 정치권과 사회에서 설립 여부가 논의된 개념에 가깝다
