Est. 1841 "The Imperial Ossetian Society of Archaeological Research and Study." »»———- ———-«« The Imperial Ossetian Society of Archaeological Research and Study, often referred to simply as the Imperial Ossetian Society of Archaeology or even more simply as the Archaeology Society, is one of the premier state-funded institutions of the empire, founded around the 'Great Restoration' of the prominence of the humanities and sciences in the 1840s to both establish and explore the history of both the empire and the lands it ruled over. The current head of the society - one Professor P. Borzoyovich - has become an outspoken and at times greatly eccentric voice as regards the history of the Empire, and has apparently given way to fringe theories regarding ancient civilisations and societies that have fuelled a growing number of expeditions both abroad and at home. »»———- ———-««
