Description
La Prefectura Naval Argentina es una de las instituciones mas antiguas y prestigiosas del País, nacio el 30 de junio de 1810 como Capitania General de Puertos a traves de la Primera Junta de Gobierno. Al ver que era necesario contar con una autoridad maritima, incorporaron la institucion. Martin Jacobo Jose Thompson fue el primer capitan de puerto del Rio de la Plata, en 1882 se cambio el nombre de Capitania General de Puertos a Prefectura Maritima, surgiendo el nombre de Prefectura, en el año 1969 pasa a llamarse Prefectura Naval Argentina. Es una fuerza de seguridad que cumple funciones de policia de seguridad de la navegacion, prevencion del orden publico, proteccion ambiental, policia judicial, auxiliar pesquera, aduanera, migratoria y sanitaria. Hoy en dia, nuestra tarea es patrullar los espacios maritimos argentinos, vigilando el limite de la Zona Economica Exclusiva protegiendo los recuros naturales y dandole seguridad a los navegantes.
