Established after the Russian civilwar, it protects constitutional authority, counters espionage and subversion and maintains public order. The organization is widely referred to as the “Strazha”, from стража (warden/guard). Originally a derisive reference to the former Imperial Okhrana, it has now become the name most ordinary people call it. Operating under the Ministry and in coordination with the Armed Forces, the OSB conducts counter-intelligence, internal investigations, and state protection while remaining largely unseen. 📜 Motto: Закон.
